The Grey Oaks neighborhood residents are zoned for Pelham City Schools, a newly independent school system formerly a part of the Shelby County School District. The system includes Pelham Oaks Elementary, Pelham Ridge Elementary, and Pelham Park Middle School. Pelham’s elementary schools offer students a wide variety of clubs and extracurricular activities for a variety of interests. Clubs include engineering, singing, running, arts, and wilderness skills. Pelham Park Middle School also has a variety of student organizations, clubs, sports, and elective classes for all interests. Pelham High School has a highly ranked band, baseball team, color guard, debate, Scholars’ Bowl team, and drama department. Pelham High School also offers students an opportunity to participate in many sports including football, cross, country, cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, bowling, soccer, and golf. The school has a 97% graduation rate and an enrollment of just under 2,000 students. The school participates in AP class programs.
