Old Town Helena

Hillsboro is within walking distance of Old Town Helena’s Depot Deli and Grill, local boutiques and Buck Creek. Buck Creek is a 17.3-mile-long branch of the Cahaba River that was used to supply water power for manufacturing and industry during the 19th century. You’ll often see families splashing or having a picnic at the base of the Buck Creek’s dam. Buck Creek is a great place to fish and canoe. Not far from Old Town you can rent a canoe to Canoe The Cahaba. Buck Creek borders Helena’s Old Town Amphitheater Park, home of the Buck Creek Festival. Buck Creek Festival is a free community event that takes place on the second weekend in May on the banks of Buck’s Creek.  There is great food, music, children’s activities, and all ages crafts.
